Miyu has enjoyed sports her whole life. In her adolescent years, she did ballet, tap-dancing, swimming, and basketball, and went on to be a collegiate rower at a Division 1 school. To supplement her rowing training, she started running and practicing yoga on her free time.
She completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Corepower in the U.S. After moving to Tokyo in 2016, she began teaching yoga through SOGO. Now she teaches yoga throughout Tokyo at gym studios, cafe’s, beaches, and anywhere she is asked to.
Miyu (pronounced me-you) was born in Yamagata, Japan and moved to Los Angeles, CA soon after. She spent most of her life in Santa Monica sandwiched by the beautiful ocean and terraneous San Andres mountains, which naturally nurtured her love for any and all outdoor activities.
Her interest areas include public health, education, innovation and design, social entrepreneurship, and anything that covers the wonders of the universe. During her free time she likes to surf, discover good eats around Tokyo, listen to podcasts, and sleep.
